Truth to tell – IKEA does get good reviews from many of its customers – but some have less kind things to say. Regarding the other retailer/supplier, one is hard pressed to find any good words about them. Indeed, the second retailer sounds like the nightmare, horror retailer that does not give a care about anything!

The problems that customers appear to have with these units concerns mainly performance and assembly. Regarding the IKEA Ektorp 2+2 Corner Sofa, one customer reported that the cushions had become deformed and “smashed” in just under 3 months. When she tried to replace them, they informed her that replacement cushions were not available. After that, she requested contact with a manager. That line should include such questions as – what rating does this company have from the Better Business Bureau? Another question might be – what are the online reviews, comments and problems discussed regarding my retailer and this piece of furniture? What kind of guarantees come with this article? Will I get the support I need from the delivery department, the customer service department and the management? You may even wish to go so far as to ask if the retailers are ISO (International Standards Organization) certified. Many are – and it is a very big deal if you file a complaint against them with the governing ISO organization. Don’t forget to ask about the durability of the item, if replacement cushions available and if there is any assembly required. And – do you need drills, saws and so on to finish the assembly?
