Putting A Little More Fun In The Party

It always seems to me, that there’s far too much real working going on in my life, and not enough fun. So, I say it’s time to have a little fun and throw a party. Any old excuse will do. For me, at the moment, I’m thinking of a “I’m totally sick of winter party”. It seems like a good one to me. And, there’s nothing to say how you would make things a little more fun for one of these made up parties. Personally, I like the mash-up approach. Let’s say, that for this kind of get together, we’ll invest in some ladybug party supplies, and then toss in a few robot party supplies just for extra measure. There are no rules here. It’s my party, and I’ll go crazy if I want to ;)

The whole point of the exercise, is to break out of those old dull routines and try something a little different. Now if you really want to have some fun, and are a little creative, go ahead and make some of your own party decorations for the event. It will not only make the actual party more personal and engaging, but will also help get you and your helpers into the festive spirit ahead of time. Planning and organizing for a big event like this can be a little stressful for some, but doing something creative and different sort of lightens the mood.

The Two Headed Boy

It seemed like almost every decent sized town around the turn of the last century had it’s own dime museum featuring all kinds of odd things, strange animals and weird people. These places were widely popular as people were curious to see things that they would not normally see. One such oddity that toured many of these places across the country in 1891 was the Tocci twins.

The Tocci twins were described as “The two headed boy”, “The blended twins”, and many other colorful descriptions on posters across the country. The Tocci  brothers were siamese twins, but they were a little more unusual than most twins. Unlike the Siamese twins Chang and Eng who were attached to each other at the breastbone by a small piece of flesh, the Tocci twins were virtually a single body with two heads.

Each of the Tocci brothers had his own head and arms, but shared a single chest and lower body starting at the sixth rib. The twins each had a backbone which which came together in the lower back to form one single backbone. They also shared a single abdomen, one set of sex organs, and two legs.  Other than having three buttocks the Tocci twins almost had a normal lower body.

Although their lower body was fairly normal looking the twins were unable to walk on the two legs that they shared. This was because the the two boys were only able to control one leg each with made walking all but impossible. They were however able to stand for short periods of time with the aid of some sort of support.

The twins traveled across the United States putting on show after show, and it was reported that during their tour across the country that the twins were earning an astonishing $1,000 a week. After their American tour the Tocci twins returned to Italy where they never displayed themselves to the general public again.
